Cabinet construction

Choose the cabinet box along with the doors, finishes and layout.

We offer European-style panel cabinetry and a premium plywood option. The box material and interior finish are specified for your project, so you can decide what goes behind the doors as well as what you see from the room.

EGGER & Tafisa

European-style cabinetry

Our European-style option uses decorative panels with a particleboard core and a thermally fused laminate surface, often called TFL or melamine. EGGER and Tafisa offer solid colors and woodgrain finishes for the cabinet interior.

The frameless box has no face frame around the opening. Base cabinets sit on adjustable leveling legs, with a removable toe-kick panel covering the space below. The legs allow the installer to level the cabinets; the toe kick can be removed to reach them.

The panel thickness, edge finish and interior color are selected as part of your cabinet specification.

Our American-style option

Plywood cabinetry

For clients who prefer a plywood box, we offer a premium custom option built with plywood panels. Plywood is made from layers of wood veneer bonded together, with grain direction alternating between layers.

The interior can have a clear-finished wood surface or a decorative finish selected for the design. The plywood product, thickness, exposed edges and base detail are agreed for the project.

Plywood can be used in both frameless and face-frame cabinetry. We discuss that construction choice separately from the door style and material.

These names describe our two options. Cabinet construction varies across both Europe and the U.S.; material, joinery, hardware and installation all contribute to the finished cabinet.

Interiors you can see

For open shelves and glass-front cabinets, the inside is part of the design. Veneer or decorative laminate can coordinate with the fronts, or introduce a contrasting wood or color.

We select the finish for the shelves, back and sides together. The cabinet interior does not have to match the doors.
